Let’s be rational…

Good afternoon Travellers,

Lately, I’m feeling like we are all kids in a car with our parents and we’re on our way to Florida. From Kansas. It’s a long drive, trust me. Dad keeps telling us we’re gonna be there in just a few hours when actually it’s more like days…because he doesn’t want to tell us how long it’s really going to be AND he can’t tell us, “If you don’t stop asking, I’m going to turn this car around…” because we can’t turn back to the world that doesn’t have this virus, can we?

Each day I awake as many do and think, what day is this? I can’t decide if it’s so very freeing or I feel like the Mad Hatter…this early afternoon, the sun is here, The wind is blowing, all the doors and windows are open and I’ve got Louis & Ella playing in the background as I write to you, my fellow humans who are also on this same strange journey…And it’s just as the song says, a lovely day…

Immunity is a Garden

Good afternoon Travellers,

Obviously for starters not many humans on Earth will be traveling any great distances for the next several weeks. However I do believe that these circumstances that have presented themselves offer all of us unlimited internal mileage opportunities. As in growth. Or so my optimistic side says, we can as a species grow from this experience. Mostly because I think all the things that we find unpleasant and difficult in life offer us the greatest opportunity to grow, don’t they?

In case you are new here, I live in Kansas and while the city in which I dwell does not currently have any confirmed cases of Corona virus (or what I have affectionately dubbed, “The Beer Virus” because sometimes you can be serious and have a giggle simultaneously), there is a county nearby with 8 confirmed cases. Many people who reside here travel back and forth between the two on a daily basis to work. It’s only a matter of time, right?

Pieces of me

Hello my Friends, dear Travellers,

It’s been well, about 3 months. Three months ago, I was happily blogging along in December with my virtual calendar for Christmas. AND then…then well, my little blog was invaded by what I’m going to call, “The Porn Horde” Why would I say that? Because there was an exponential rise in visitors here. Like HUNDREDS actually, and upon abit of investigation, these fine people were looking for an actual Pussy Advent Calendar. Not as in cat, as in vagina. Or perhaps vulvas. Does such a thing exist out there? Quite possibly. And while I do not believe in censorship, I can’t say I have any understanding of that situation. Maybe it’s because I own my own vagina/vulva, so why go looking for others??

(I raise my shoulders in a massive emphatic shrug here…)

Needless to say, I took as break.

A single turkey walks into a bar…

Good morning Travellers,

We have arrived at the first major milestone holiday for me as a single girl. Okay, technically my birthday was the first, but this in America is a BIG one. Or not. It’s come to my attention in the past few years that many people do not really celebrate this day beyond a simple acknowledgement. And while I’m certain some patriots consider that blasphemy, I find it comforting. Not just now as a single person whose family is far away, but because I think each of our lives is our own and why should anyone dictate what our days mean to us.

Damn, it’s blooming…

Buenas Tardes Travellers,

Last Friday afternoon at work, I noticed something most delightfully unexpected…Wait, let’s back that up…If you will recall, I had a glorious outdoor table garden this summer. Veggies, strawberries, tomatoes, flowers, cacti and one little survivor of a blueberry bush. That little guy was an act of serious faith when I repotted him in April. He appeared to be near dead, all brown sticks, no signs of returning life, but I thought why not try…and he grew so big. SO BIG, like five pant sizes.

Let’s get gratified

Buenas Noches Travellers,

I’ve been thinking a lot about immediate gratification lately and my life choices. How many times have I chosen faster and easier hop skip and a jump rather than bearing down the longer road to something that would have been more. Do you know what I mean?

I think so many of us have fallen under that spell. The internal pull to have what you want RIGHT NOW seems to be very popular with humans, doesn’t it? It’s also very popular with my cat Charlie, who greets me each evening with a loud MEOW that I swear sounds like “NOW!” As in food. RIGHT NOW.

Are you curious?

Good evening Travellers,

Earlier this morning, I gave birth to a beautiful bouncing baby post. I saw it, held it, heard it and then published it. And then POOF, gone. ALL. GONE.

ALL MY WORDS GONE. All 1500 of them. There is no word to describe how that felt.

Imagine going thru the delivery of your baby, you see your baby, hold it and then, well, NO BABY. In fact, said baby went back into my proverbial belly, or rather mind in this case, awaiting future possible re-delivery. I guess at least I didn’t have to have an episiotomy, am I right?

A few Friday musings on marriage, metamorphosis, worms and money

It’s Friday Travellers,

And I have a lot of thoughts, maybe get a cup of tea for this…

I’ve been trying to add up the number in my mind of women whom I have met since my divorce, who are also divorced, and have quite emphatically told me that they’ve never been happier than well, being on their own. Happily divorced. SO HAPPY. Not fake happy, like glowy. And all ages, not just mid-life or late in life, 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, I mean I bet it’s been near a dozen women now…some random strangers, almost like the universe is speaking to me…it just happened again last night.

THE MEANING OF LIFE IS…

Happy Tuesday Travellers,

My sincerest apologies for missing Imagination Monday. There was a washing machine/laundry disaster that took away my morning and very briefly my sanity as well. It’s amazing how all the things humans have built for convenience become so f*cking inconvenient when they break down.

I’ve arrived today to share with you the meaning of LIFE. I know, I know, many people promise the answer to this question, but I’m here to deliver. Now, I would like you to know up front, I could be wrong as I didn’t create the universe, but lately I’ve been learning a thing or two about myself and well, I think I may have found something. Something deep down the the darker recesses of my cave of my soul.
